Justice still served without giving legal teeth to independent Tai Po fire committee: security chief

Hong Kong Secretary for Security Chris Tang Ping-keung said some individuals refusing to testify before the independent committee investigating the Tai Po fire “did not matter”, as authorities would still prosecute anyone deemed responsible as long as there was sufficient evidence.He added that not upgrading the independent committee to a commission of inquiry would not hamper the pursuit of justice.
