Portofino and Cinque Terre had been high on our travel wish list for years, and from our base at Tigullio Camping & Resort in Sestri Levante we finally got the opportunity to explore both of these famous Italian destinations. In this episode we take our Lexmoto Pegasus 300 scooter along the stunning Ligurian coastline to visit the beautiful harbour village of Portofino. We explore the colourful streets, waterfront, harbour and hidden corners of one of Italy's most famous coastal resorts. The following day we leave the scooter behind and take the train from Sestri Levante to discover the spectacular villages of Cinque Terre. We explain the ticket options available, how the Cinque Terre transport pass works and how easy it is to visit all five villages in a single day using the local train network. From Monterosso, Vernazza, Corniglia, Manarola and Riomaggiore, we spend the day wandering through narrow streets, enjoying incredible coastal scenery, sampling local food and soaking up the atmosphere of one of Italy's most iconic destinations. We also walk the famous Via dell'Amore (Path of Love), the spectacular cliffside coastal walkway linking Riomaggiore and Manarola. After years of closure and restoration work, the route has now fully reopened, and we show you what this iconic section of the Cinque Terre coastline looks like today. So which did we prefer...
