He has been an assistant professor at Edogawa University since 2002 (professor from 2006 to 2020). He also served as a director of the Fukuoka SoftBank Hawks from 2005 to 2014. Currently holds a PhD in Sports Science. He is a director of the University Athletic Association (UNIVAS) and president of the Japan Association of Sports Management Interpreters.
