These Green Tree Pythons are ready (and some that aren't)
Not every Green Tree Python is ready—and that's exactly how it should be. One of the biggest misconceptions about imported reptiles is that they arrive and immediately become available. That isn't how we do things at DM Exotics. In this video, I'm taking you behind the scenes of our Green Tree Python quarantine process to show how I decide which snakes are truly ready for new homes and which ones need more time. Some of these imported Green Tree Pythons have settled in beautifully, are feeding consistently, maintaining weight, and have earned my seal of approval. Others? Not yet. You'll see: • Green Tree Pythons that have officially passed inspection • A stunning Mimika Green Tree Python that looks incredible but still isn't ready • Snakes that simply need another meal or more body weight before being released • How patience protects both the animal and the customer • Why appearance alone doesn't determine readiness Every snake moves at its own pace. There is no schedule and there are no shortcuts. You'll also get a look at one of the newest additions to our biosecurity protocol. For years I've brought back limited quantities of NexGard from overseas for parasite prevention. Thanks to one of my long-time customers who is also a veterinarian, I now have reliable access here in the United States. Every new snake entering my collection—whether imported, purchased at an expo, or acquired from another keeper—now becomes part of this preventative health protocol. Responsible reptile keeping starts long before a snake reaches its new owner. If you enjoy rare reptiles, Green Tree Pythons, imported snakes, reptile breeding, quarantine procedures, and behind-the-scenes access to one of the largest rare reptile import programs in the United States, you're in the right place.
