We walk in the heights of Ua Pou to meet chocolate maker Manfred Drechsler, a pioneer in cocoa cultivation and chocolate making in Polynesia. Still a baby, Manfred fled East Germany in his mother's arms. thirty years later, his SPA business burned down. Inspired by a TV program about the Tuamotus, he then left Germany for Polynesia. He became an helicopter pilot in Tahiti, worked in construction at Carovog, then began experimenting with planting cocoa beans in the Marquesas at Ua Pou.
