【格差社会】日本で激増する貧困層と富裕層『仏教界、どうする』
The Buddha taught that giving wealth to those who are unfortunate, in need, or in dire straits is a wonderful act of generosity. The analogy of a rice field is used because, just as seeds sown in a field eventually yield a harvest for the planter, the wealth returned to the giver as happiness. Even though the Buddha encourages it as an act that brings happiness, we often find it hard to believe and are reluctant to give. Giving away money, which is second only to life itself in importance, is not something we can easily do. We can only give when we can calculate that it will be returned. Political donations and investments in ventures are also based on careful calculations, and money is given with the sentiment of "Please accept this with gratitude," "I'm supporting you," and "I want to help." Therefore, wealth flows abundantly to those with power and potential. People flock to them, wagging their tails so hard they might break off. Conversely, those without power or potential are ignored. It is rare for someone to give wealth out of a desire to "support" someone. In nursing homes, elderly residents are treated as unwanted burdens, subjected to violence, and, in some extreme cases, thrown from the third or fourth floor like scraps of paper. Few people are willing to give their wealth to those who truly need support, those known as "the poor." Easier said than done. Few people practice the act of giving to the poor, following the teachings of Buddha. That is precisely why such people shine. They become cherished. Those who ignore and trample on the powerless and weak will attract similar types of people around them, and eventually, when they lose their power and become weak, they will receive a solemn retribution from those around them. "Those who abandoned their parents will be abandoned by their children as punishment," and "Alas, only when people leave do you realize your own lack of virtue." These are expressed in poetry. ----------------------------------------------------------------- "Understanding Buddhism" Official LINE Account Here ----------------------------------------------------------------- • Updates on videos and columns • Mini-corner explaining Buddhist terms in simple terms • Exclusive projects for LINE friends, etc. ▼"Understanding Buddhism" Official LINE Account Here https://lin.ee/GbzwYBX ----------------------------------------------------------------- 20-Lesson Free Email Course Here ----------------------------------------------------------------- https://peraichi.com/landing_pages/vi... ↑The free email course reveals the answer to the "meaning of life" as taught in Buddhism.
