How to install Hammer Fab tailgate stops for 47-53 Chevy trucks, designed to replace noisy, rusty tailgate chains with a clean, solid solution. The stops install into the stock tailgate with light fabrication required, including slotting the tailgate and rear bed sill and countersinking the main mounting hole. Made from 1/2” laser-cut steel and sold in raw steel with stainless hardware and locking plates. Designed to hold the tailgate open at 90 degrees.
