Novosibirsk Electromechanical Plant, launched in 1977, produced until the late 1980s. This domestically produced transistorized stereo reel-to-reel tape deck features an interesting design—a vertical, almost square body with 18 protruding reels, a nod to imported tape recorders like Technics and Akai. A well-conceived and fairly well-executed deck. It was popular among young people in the 1980s. It is used in conjunction with an external power amplifier and speaker systems.
