20 de JUNIO: la vida de MANUEL BELGRANO y el origen de la BANDERA ARGENTINA x Lalo Mir

🎙 x Lalo Mir In 1812, Belgrano created the national emblem. Did he know it would become a global symbol, tattooed on skin and flying in stadiums? 🏟 He was born in Buenos Aires in 1770, studied in Spain, returned young, and compiled an endless resume: economist, soldier, journalist... and revolutionary. He was a key player in the historic May Revolution and endured the fire: battles, trials, defeats, and even triumphs that marked history. Amidst all this, he proposed something simple and powerful: a symbol that would unite the people. Thus were born the cockade and the light blue and white flag. Belgrano led the Army of the North, organized the Jujuy Exodus, and even dreamed of an Inca king for an independent and diverse Argentina. He died on June 20, 1820, unaware that he had created one of the most iconic emblems of our identity. Every time we see that flag waving, we are reminded that it was the work of a brave thinker who chose to ACT when we needed it most.
