The President of the Republic, Mr. Patrice Talon, received the credentials of ten (10) new Ambassadors accredited to Benin on Thursday, March 13, 2025, at the Marina Palace, as part of the revitalization of diplomatic cooperation between Benin and these countries. They are: H.E. Mr. Wei Zhang, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the People's Republic of China to Benin, residing in Cotonou; H.E. Mr. Rubén Daríos Ruiz Mainardi, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Vatican City State to Benin, residing in Cotonou; H.E. Mr. Kadade Chaibou, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Niger to Benin, residing in Cotonou; H.E. Ms. Tina Guthrie, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Canada to Benin, residing in Ouagadougou, Burkina Faso; H.E. Mr. Siaka Cissoko, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Guinea to Benin, residing in Abuja, Nigeria; H.E. Mr. Assiélou Félix Tanon, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Côte d'Ivoire to Benin, residing in Accra, Ghana; H.E. Mr. Antit Mohsen, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Tunisia to Benin, residing in Abuja, Nigeria; H.E. Mr. Paulo Jorge Adão MARTINS DOS SANTOS, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Portuguese Republic to Benin, residing in Abuja, Nigeria; H.E. Mr. Hocine MEZOUED, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the People's Democratic Republic of Algeria to Benin, residing in Abuja, Nigeria; Following the formal ceremony for the presentation of credentials, the Head of State met with each of the new Ambassadors and their respective delegations. During the audience that followed each traditional ceremony of presenting credentials, emphasis was placed on strengthening bilateral cooperation and developing economic and cultural relations between the various countries and Benin. Under the leadership of Ministers Romuald Wadagni and Olushegun Adjadi Bakari, Beninese diplomacy continues to grow in strength and open itself to new and beneficial partnerships in the sub-region and around the world.
