[4K] 🇯🇵 Tokyo Regional Rail (Non JR) | Every Operator

Tokyo's world famous transit system is mainly made up of its regional rail system. The biggest operator by far is JR East however there are many other transit agencies which operate their own services on different lines. These operators run various through services onto the metro and JR lines offering very good integration with the rest of the transport network. The fares and services are similar to those in various other Japanese cities although since there are so many, trips with lots of transfers are quite expensive since you have to pay a new fare every time you get on a new operator. Even if the multiple companies make transfers a nightmare it is still a huge contribution to the Tokyo's transit and the city would suffer without them.
