Making-Of: The Most Remote Film Festival In The World

In 2023, filmmaker Bjarney Lúðvíksdóttir co-founded the Hornstrandir Film Festival (HFF), supposedly the most remote film festival in the world. The idea to launch a film festival at the edge of the world initially came during a hiking trip when Bjarney and some friends stumbled upon plastic trash from the fishing industry and decided to shed light on the issue. This year, in the film festival's second edition, a selection of 15 documentary films aims to raise awareness of environmental issues, climate, and health. Instead of huge cinema screens in posh venues, attendees of HFF hike over 100 kilometres between five locations—in all kinds of weather. What began as a simple journey soon turned into the adventure of a lifetime... This is the first video of our Hornstrandir series.
