Computer Hobby Expo Vintage Apple Computers on Display
πΌ Computer Hobby Expo | Vintage Apple Computers, Apple III, Macs & Classic Games At the 2026 Train and Hobby Show, I met up with Matt from the Mac Museum and filmed a display of vintage Apple computers including the Apple III, Apple IIe, Macintosh Plus, iMac G3, iMac G4, Power Mac G4, Newton MessagePad, eMate, and several classic Macintosh systems running original software and games. This episode focuses on vintage Apple computers on display, classic Mac gaming, and real hardware running at the expo. Systems were set up for visitors to use, including multiplayer Marathon on networked Macs, Donkey Kong on the Apple IIe, and classic Macintosh software running on original machines. The Apple III was running a demo loop, the Macintosh Plus was set up with classic games, and several colorful iMac G3 systems were linked together for multiplayer gaming. Matt also showed recap kits used to repair vintage Macintosh computers, explaining how leaking capacitors are one of the most common problems with old Apple hardware. Everything shown here is real hardware running live at the expo. No emulation, no recreations, just original vintage Apple computers still working decades later. This is part of my Vintage Computer Expo series covering real collectors, real machines, and real working systems from the early days of personal computing. βΈ» π Chapters (Timestamps) 0:00 β Expo display overview 0:23 β Colorful iMac G3 multiplayer Marathon setup 1:41 β Grace Brothers Apple advertisement 2:04 β Apple III running demo software 2:54 β Apple IIe playing Donkey Kong 3:05 β Macintosh Plus and classic Mac games (Mac Missiles) 3:40 β Apple Newton MessagePad and eMate 4:49 β Mac Museum flyer and Apple display 5:14 β iMac G4 and early 2000s Macs 5:56 β Power Mac G4 running Mac OS X beta 6:39 β Transporting and setting up vintage computers 7:11 β Macintosh recap kits and capacitor repairs 8:34 β Mac Museum store and repair kits 9:19 β Final look at the Apple computer display βΈ» π² Follow Retro Rarez on Socials Facebook β’ X β’ Instagram β’ TikTok β @retrorarez βΈ» πΎ Support Vintage Tech Preservation πΎ Every week I document and preserve vintage computers, original software, and real hardware setups, focusing on machines running exactly as they did decades ago.
