Steam Railways of Northern Portugal in 1973
A collection of digitised (16:9) Super 8 cine films featuring various steam operations in northern Portugal during August 1973. Locations covered include Porto and suburbs, Regua, Tua and the narrow gauge branch lines to Vila Real and Mirandela. A wide variety of locomotive classes are seen, both broad and narrow gauge including the delightful Henschel mallett tanks. Original sound recorded on a cassette tape recorder which on a few occasions malfunctioned resulting in some frustratingly silent scenes.
