[ASMR] Custom-Built Strongest Mac Studio M3 Ultra + 512GB + 8TB | Maxed-Out Computing Power!

Today we unbox Apple’s most powerful desktop — the Mac Studio M3 Ultra, priced at nearly ¥150,000 on the market. With a top-tier 512GB unified memory, it’s the ultimate productivity machine. The unit only came with 1TB of storage, which is far from matching its flagship specs. The owner decided to upgrade it directly to 8TB. We first ran speed tests on the original 1TB drive, achieving read speeds of 5146MB/s and write speeds of 6149MB/s. After disassembly, we can see Apple’s exquisite internal design. The storage uses a separate module with four 256GB NAND chips for the 1TB capacity. For the 8TB upgrade, we replaced them with eight 1TB high-performance chips, soldered onto the original board and an additional expansion board to reach the full 8TB. The entire upgrade process is shown in full detail: removing the original chips, cleaning the solder pads, reballing new chips, installing each 1TB IC one by one, applying BGA underfill, and reflow soldering for a secure bond. After assembly, we restored the system in DFU mode, and the 8TB storage was recognized successfully.Speed tests after the upgrade show a read speed of 5576MB/s and a massive jump in write speed to 8273MB/s — a huge performance improvement. This Mac Studio M3 Ultra storage upgrade is fully completed, and the maxed-out flagship is ready to be returned to its owner!
