Syed Saddiq stays free after Federal Court 2-1 decision

The Federal Court has upheld Muar MP Syed Saddiq Syed Abdul Rahman’s acquittal over charges of criminal breach of trust, misappropriation of property and money laundering involving Bersatu Youth funds. In a 2-1 decision, the court dismissed the Attorney-General’s Chambers’ appeal, finding no reason to overturn the Court of Appeal’s decision to clear him last year. The majority held that the prosecution failed to prove the key elements required to sustain the charges.
