More than 2,600 years ago, a sacred boundary was created on sacred Mount Ikoma, and Ame-no-Tane-no-Mikoto, the ancestor of the Nakatomi clan, enshrined his grandparents, Ame-no-Koyane-no-Mikoto and Hime-no-Kami, in a form of mountain worship. In the mid-7th century, they were enshrined at the foot of the mountain by the Hiraoka clan, and then in 768, Fujiwara no Fuhito, son of Nakatomi Kamatari, built Kasuga Taisha Shrine in Nara, and enshrined Ame-no-Koyane-no-Mikoto and Hime-no-Kami. Ten years later, in 778, Takemikazuchi-no-Mikoto and Futsunushi-no-Mikoto were welcomed from Kasuga Taisha, and this ancient shrine now enshrines the four deities Ame-no-Koyane-no-Mikoto, Hime-no-Kami, Takemikazuchi-no-Mikoto, and Futsunushi-no-Mikoto. This time, we'll travel to this ancient sacred ground, the main shrine at Kozutake, and explain everything from the main hall to the auxiliary shrines.
