I bought dwarf borlotti beans at the farm, they are a variety of the common bean, Phaseolus vulgaris, originally grown in Colombia where it is known as cargamanto. This bean is also known as cranberry bean or Roman bean. Very good for many recipes, intense flavor suitable for soups, broths and purees.
