Preserved: West Midlands PTE: 2789 (B789AOC) MCW Metrobus Mk 2

Almost about to finish the Wythall uploads, and what better than a bus time well known to Birmingham streets; the MCW Metrobus, with Mark 2 example 2789 - B789AOC. B789AOC was new to West Midlands PTE as 2789 in 1984 as part of 23 MCWs of the B-AOC batch. Allocated from new to Yardley Wood garage, deregulation 1986 saw it come under West Midlands Travel. May 1991 saw it transfer to Acocks Green before returning to Yardley Wood three months later, passing to Travel West Midlands in 1996. 2789 would remain at Yardley Wood until withdrawal in March 2008. Passing to independent Roberts of Hugglescote where it remained in service until 2019, where it entered into preservation. Our journey sees us departing from Wythall Transport Museum up to Alcester Lane Ends via Maypole Island prior to the Happy Hour runaround (expect a short video on that to come soon) B789AOC is powered by a Gardner 6LXB engine coupled to a Voith D851 3-speed automatic gearbox. Making that ever characteristic whine and scream synonymous with a Metro. I do like these, and hope you do too.
