Chapter 14.2: Homeostasis - Deamination and Ultrafiltration in the Kidney
How does the body make urine? And how is your kidney designed to ensure you don't lose glucose or proteins in your urine? This video is an introduction to the journey inside the kidneys and how the kidneys play a role in regulating the water potential of the blood. The video begins with a description of deamination - the removal of amine groups from amino acids to produce ammonia, urea and ketones. The video then explains how ultrafiltration happens in the glomerulus and bowman's capsule.
