Mal Everest: From a Closet, To Winning a National Music Festival | Beyond The Mic

In this interview with Mal Everest, we talked about his music journey, and how he started from scratch writing, producing, and recording his debut song “Cmendur” in a closet, with no label or budget behind him. That same song would go on to win Festivali i Këngës, one of Albania’s most prestigious music festivals. He also reflects on his return to the festival with the song “Antihero”, a powerful track born from the experience of being a new artist in the industry and the struggle to define himself amid expectations and judgment. We also dive into his reinterpretation of the iconic Albanian song “Dehun” by Nexhmije Pagarusha, tranforming it with a bold rock arrangement while honoring its cultural weight. Mal is an artist who does it all: from writing and producing to directing and editing his own music videos. With a distinct sound, raw energy, and a strong artistic identity, he’s carving his own space in the Balkan music scene but this is just the beginning. ___________________________________________________________________________________________________ MAL: Youtube ‪@MalEverest‬ Instagram https://www.instagram.com/mal.everest/ Spotify https://open.spotify.com/intl-it/artist/5j...
