Oct. 20th 2019 Marilyn Maye sings a medley of songs from Jerry Herman's "Hello Dolly!" in her concert at Feinstein's/54 Below Nightclub in NYC. I didn't catch the perfect night...but I caught the funny one. It was the only night I video'd it and is presented without editing and WITH all it's humorous impromptu lyrics and her intentional false starts. What is intact is the exuberance and love this marvel brings to a role she played several times through the years. At 91 she brings more expertise and more power to the performance than singers half her age. Her stage roles are inextricably linked to the great shows that Jerry Herman wrote.
