Afterward, large-particle coal travels via a conveyor belt to a grinder, where water must be supplied to ensure even mixing. The mixture then passes through a mixer and is transported to a rotary press to stamp out the briquettes. Once the briquettes are made, the loading process begins, with delivery drivers manually loading 3.6kg briquettes onto trucks. Loading approximately 800 briquettes using only human strength leaves them drenched in sweat, even in the winter. Briquettes remind us of cherished memories as we continue to lose our sense of community. We follow the passionate footsteps of the people living a fierce life at a briquette factory. With winter, the season when warmth is longed for, the factory has entered its heyday as the demand for briquettes has increased. The daily production volume alone is a staggering 80,000 pieces. As briquettes are loaded onto delivery vehicles lined up in the yard, the drivers are drenched in sweat even in the winter because they are carried individually by hand. Frequent machine breakdowns result in a surge of defective briquettes, and workers identify them using only their eyes and the sense of touch. The anthracite coal, the raw material for the briquettes, is transported by rail, and the quantity is truly enormous. With machine noise exceeding 80 decibels, hearing loss is a frequent occurrence. Just as work is in full swing, a crisis situation blocks the workers at the briquette factory. Once the crisis passes, the factory continues its arduous work. When machines break down, delays are inevitable, and disruptions to operations are bound to occur. However, the workers continue to work without losing their smiles. At the briquette factory currently being covered, there is a worker from Uzbekistan who stays in accommodations provided by the factory. He soothes his weary mind and body through video calls with his family, his only pillar of support. The next morning, briquette delivery trucks are still lined up, and the loading work continues ceaselessly. All they want is a single word of thanks.
