BYD invited me to the launch of their new Sealion 5 DM-i PHEV in Telford , a plug-in hybrid family SUV that starts at £29,995. So I got up at 5AM, drove 3.5 hours through traffic and rain, ended up at the wrong conference, and then drove the car anyway. Here's my honest take: it's not the most exciting car in the world. But for families who care about running costs and value? It might be the most disruptive car in its segment right now.
