Direction and Slope of Steepest Ascent/Descent with the Gradient - Calculus 3
In this video, Jitty shows you how to find the direction of steepest ascent or descent. He does this by using the gradient and the property of the gradient that automatically points in the direction of steepest ascent/descent. The magnitude of the gradient is also the slope of this ascent/descent, which can be calculated using the Pythagorean Theorem.
