Ballroomin' Blues class recap - Savoy Walk with Grapevines
In this class we learned Savoy Walk - a beautiful Ballroomin' style of Blues dancing. This dance is characterised by continuous travel, a mixture of quick and slow steps and can include flashy moves to jazz things up. We started easy with a nice little Promenade, before dialing up the difficulty with some tricky Grapevines. With all of these moves, clarity from the leader is really key, and while it is definitely easier for follows to feel those rhythm changes if you are dancing in close embrace - however as always it's important to respect people's personal boundaries when deciding how close you and your partner would like to dance.
