Distorted Reflections (DYSMORPHIA)

Distorted Reflections is a collaborative album created by a close group of friends. The project explores themes of identity, self-perception, alienation, and personal conflict through music. Many of the contributors have experienced periods of questioning or uncertainty regarding gender, sexuality, or their sense of self, and the album serves as an artistic outlet for those experiences rather than an attempt to provide definitive answers. Several tracks feature a unique vocal production technique in which two separate vocal performances, one by a cisgender male vocalist and one by a cisgender female vocalist, are carefully blended into a single composite voice. As the performance progresses, subtle shifts in timbre and tone move between the two singers, creating an intentionally fluid and sometimes disorienting vocal character that reflects the album's central themes. Every song represents a different perspective, memory, or emotional state, making the album a collection of fragmented reflections rather than a single narrative.
