East Greenland Sailing The Hurricane
In 2024, our small team from Arctic Alive ventured to the East coast of Greenland, exploring along one of the wildest coastlines on Earth. In early August, we had non stop rain then just when we thought things would improve, we received warning of an incoming full category hurricane. Fortunately we had access to a tiny hunters cabin where we spent four days encapsulated by constant wind & rain that at times reached 95 knots...yes, 95. This video does not come even close to capturing the ferocity of this weather, but gives an idea and also serves as a warning if you decide to go adventure in East Greenland, seriously evaluate your rain gear ! We wore our drysuits even on the good days lol !
