Becky G Delivers Heartfelt Graduation Speech at UC Santa Cruz Chicane Latiné Year-End Ceremony

That is you, that is resilience.” -Becky G Global superstar and activist Becky G surprised Banana Slugs with an emotional and inspiring keynote speech at El Centro’s 54th Annual Chicane Latiné Year-End Ceremony! She reminded students that their accomplishments are deeply connected to the dedication, sacrifices, and dreams of those who came before them, and also encouraged them to carry these legacies forward with creativity, passion, and joy as they step into the next stage of their lives. To further carry this powerful message forward, UC Santa Cruz announced the launching of Latiné Futures, a fundraising initiative to support the ongoing work of the Dolores Huerta Research Center and El Centro in advancing student success, learning, and community empowerment, as well as interdisciplinary research connected to Chicane, Latine, and Latin American communities. ¡Felicidades, Class of 2026!
