Chelmno memorial and mass graves, Poland - from the air - Mike and his Drone no.19

Chelmno memorial and mass graves, Poland - from the air - Mike and his Drone no.19 The Chełmno Forest, located near the village of Chełmno in occupied Poland, was the site of mass executions during the Holocaust. It was closely associated with the Chełmno extermination camp, which operated from 1941 to 1945. The forest served as a remote, concealed area where the Nazis carried out killings and buried victims in mass graves. Victims, mainly Jews from Łódź and surrounding areas, were transported to Chełmno, often under the pretense of relocation. Many were murdered in mobile gas vans, and others were shot. Their bodies were then buried in the forest or burned to hide evidence. The Chełmno Forest symbolizes the Nazis’ efforts to conceal their crimes and the scale of the atrocities committed in secret. Today, it is a memorial site, commemorating the tens of thousands of men, women, and children who were killed there.
