April 22, 1981 (8:35 PM) Painter's Mill Star Theatre", Owings Mills, Maryland, U.S.A. John McLaughlin - guitar Al Di Meola - guitar Paco De Lucia - guitar Taping Gear: Sony TC-1100T with Sony ECM-16 condenser microphone Original notes [Nice one below]: 'Taper's Comments: "Painter's Mill Star Theatre" was in the Baltimore suburbs. It was one of those theatre in the round joints, that had a rotating stage in the middle, although it never rotated for any of the shows I saw there. Being stationary likely made 20% - 25% of the seats unusable, as they would have been behind the stage, and the view obstructed. It had previously been known as "Painter's Mill Music Fair". I guess it held maybe a couple thousand folks. It burned to the ground years later. It was rumored that it had been torched for the insurance. This was the only time I got to see the fantastic Guitar Trio. As usual, the audience was filled up with a bunch of loud mouth yuppies, and unfortunately two rows in front of me was the son of Godzilla. The guy had to be pushing 7 feet tall, and spent most of the concert moving his body all over the place, often blocking my view. I was trying to take photos, and became frustrated on "Manhã De Carnaval" when he kept getting in the way. I asked the guy in front of me to ask him to stand still for awhile, which he did, and I took a few more shots. You can sometimes hear the camera shutter on these recordings, but it isn't that often, and shouldn't spoil your enjoyment of the show. If anybody can help on some of the missing song titles, please do so in the comments section. I'm not 100% on the duo line ups, so if you think I made a mistake, please update that as well. Enjoy! ---------------------------------------------------------- PLEASE KEEP THIS LOSSLESS!!! Support the band: Buy the officially released items, etc'." Thanks to bpthree and Jeff James. Thanks Sokolowski carsten and mohammed nazam for helping with titles. Footage and production by bigfootpegrande.
