Robbers Roost Hike- Sedona AZ, May 2026
We hiked Robbers Roost trail 5/24/26 midday. There was hardly no one else on the trail and we even had the caves to ourselves for a little bit. The trailhead is a parking area designated for non-4x4 high-clearance vehicles. To access the trailhead, just check it on All Trails App. The app took us there and we had no problem navigating to the cave. Our rental car could not make it up the steep dirt road which is very rocky and pitted, so we parked at the low clearance vehicle area and walked about a mile to the trailhead. Absolutely loved this hike. We ended up doing this one in the middle of the day. It is fully exposed to sun however the wind made it bearable. The cave and the views along the way made this one worth it. The worst part was the long drive in on an unpaved road. Would definitely do again.
