ford 1.6 timing belt without expensive tool.

DO NOT attempt a timing belt/timing chain job unless you have at least moderate experience with mechanic work........ THIS VIDEO IS NOT A HOW TO FOR THE SEASONED DEALERSHIP TECH...... THE CORRECT WAY TO DO THIS REPAIR IS OBVIOUSLY TO PURCHASE THE CORRECT TOOLS WHICH ARE RELATIVELY INEXPENSIVE AND EASY TO FIND ONLINE, THIS IS THE CORRECT AND PREFERED WAY. HOWEVER THERE ARE MANY INSTANCES WHERE AN AVERAGE SKILLED GUY WILL WANT TO DO THIS JOB ON THE WEEKEND AND WILL REFUSE TO BUY A TOOL THEY WILL ONLY USE ONCE,,,,IF THIS IS YOU THEN THIS IS A METHOD THAT WORKS AS LONG AS YOUR CAREFULL. AS STATED BEFORE, DO NOT ATTEMPT THIS REPAIR WITH OR WITHOUT THE CORRECT TOOL UNLESS YOU ARE CAREFULL AND FAMILIAR WITH MECHANICAL WORK. IF YOU ALLOW A CAM TO SLIP THEN YOU WILL BE FORCED TO STOP, ORDER THE TOOL AND WAIT A WEEK FOR YOUR TOOL TO ARRIVE. DO NOT TRY TO START THE ENGINE UNLESS YOU ARE 100% SURE NOTHING MOVED.......PSA. If you have to change a water pump or do a timing belt on the 1.6 ford, a 2015 Fiesta in this case and you dont have the cam holding tool then check this video out. If you think you may have made an error while doing this job with or without the correct tool DO NOT START THE ENGINE !!!!!!!!!!!!!! when you get done changing the belt spin the engine by hand (ratchet) a few turns to make sure its making compression and valves arent hitting pistons. Use caution when changing timing belts or you will hurt the engine....
