We Took a Short Ride and Practiced Slow Speed Motorcycle Maneuvers

Slow-speed motorcycle skills are some of the most important riding techniques you'll ever learn, yet they're often the most overlooked. In today's ride, Shay and I head out to an empty parking lot to practice the skills that help riders stay confident and in control at low speeds. From tight turns to clutch control, throttle control, rear brake management, and balance exercises, we spent time to find a baseline of where we need to start to sharpen Shay's skills. Whether you're a brand-new rider or have thousands of miles under your belt, parking lot practice is one of the best ways to improve your confidence and become a safer, smoother rider. As a rider with over 25 years of experience, I can tell you that the best riders never stop practicing the basics. Remember: The parking lot is where skills are built before they're needed on the road. 👇 Let us know in the comments: How often do you practice slow-speed maneuvers, and what's the toughest maneuver for you to master?
