Max-AI™ AQC at Penn Waste
The Max-AI™ Autonomous Quality Control (AQC) pairs Max-AI technology with a robotic sorter to purify the final PET product. The intelligent vision system directs the robotic sorter to pick non-PET material, which is returned to the container line's onset. Footage is from Penn Waste's 45-tph Single Stream Materials Recovery Facility (MRF). Max-AI™ technology is an artificial intelligence that identifies recyclables and other items for recovery. Through deep learning technology, Max-AI employs both multi-layered neural networks and a vision system to see and identify objects similar to the way a person does. The technology will drive improvements in Material Recovery Facility (MRF) design, operational efficiency, recovery, system optimization, maintenance, and more.
