WOW! Unifi is finally getting serious about 5G CPE's and now have both and outdoor and indoor unit to work with their networks. In this video I unbox it, show the features/settings, setup the unit to my new Unifi UDR7 Dream Router with wifi 7 and PoE output (to power the outdoor CPE). This 5G modem/gateway is designed to be outdoors and give you the fastest 5G connection for internet. Rather at home, RV or out camping this 5G Max Outdoor delivers reliable performance. This has two SIM card slots and can work on all US carriers AT&T Verizon and T-Mobile. ATTENTION: I did have a Rookie Unifi mistake on my part shown in this video. I used their included ethernet cable and didnt notice they use 2 pair cables in the box which is capped at 100mpbs and I wasn't used to the FE label and color on unifi ports. Excuses aside I just retested with a proper ethernet cable and 2.5gbps port auto selected and got a top of 250/20mbps so certainly faster than shown in the video but still subpar compared to the tmobile g4ar with the waveform antenna attached. I'll be doing more extensive testing on the unifi 5g max outdoor soon and I am sure I can find some more speed out of it! Consider subscribing to the channel or looking below for more content!
