Perfect for comfort on the trail, for self-supported overnight kayaking trips or festivals. The square base is sturdy and comfortable, especially when cooking at ground level while backpacking. The seat base is 4.5” off of the ground, the total height assembled is 19.7,” and the packed weight is 23oz. It is made of high-tech aluminum alloy and high-strength reinforced nylon hubs. The Ground Chair can support up to 265 lbs. It is not the lightest chair for backpacking (Helinox Chair Zero weighs 18oz), but I prefer to cook at ground level while backpacking. The Helinox Ground Chair is covered by a 5yr warranty, and at $129, it’s not the least expensive chair, but I like to buy quality the first time! I’ve had this chair for a few years and I expect it to last for many more years to come.
