🗡️ ADIPATI UKUR – THE STORY OF A PRIANGAN HERO WHO FIGHTED FATE 🗡️ In the 17th century Priangan region, there lived a great leader named Adipati Ukur, ruler of Tatar Ukur, whose territory encompassed Bandung, Sumedang, and parts of Priangan. He was known as a brave nobleman who led his people during a time of turmoil and war. Adipati Ukur (Wangsanata/Wangsataruna) was the Regent of Priangan during the Mataram Sultanate. He received orders from Sultan Agung to join the attack on the Dutch East India Company (VOC) in Batavia in 1628. However, the failure of the attack led him into a major conflict with Mataram. In his escape, Adipati Ukur and his followers continued to survive in the Priangan mountains. His story is filled with struggle, loyalty, and sacrifice. He was eventually captured and taken to Mataram, where he was executed in 1632. This legend is remembered as a story of courage, leadership, and the fate of a Sundanese figure who stood amidst the great powers of his time.
