Don't be Afraid to Look Deeper - Solo in Cayonlands
The most beautiful lives are what remain after the soft, easy layers have been stripped away. Join me on a solitary journey into the heart of Canyonlands National Park. After leaving the ancient stone walls of Chaco Canyon, I found myself standing on the edge of "Island in the Sky," where the scale of the wilderness does more than just provide a view—it strips away the illusion of control. In this video, we explore the dizzying heights of the Shafer Overlook, the rugged history of Dead Horse Point, and the hidden, microscopic miracles found in the potholes of The Needles district. As a woman traveling solo, I’ve often leaned on my "digital security blankets"—GPS, maps, and itineraries. But the desert has a way of asking a deeper question: Who are we when the maps are put away and the wind is the only voice left? This is a story about the grit of survival, the cinematic courage of choosing the wild over the cage, and a message I want to leave for my grandchildren about finding the courage to answer the call of your own heart.
