Spread across approximately 336–338 acres of forest land, it features immersive, naturalistic habitats that recreate the animals' wild environments, allowing visitors to experience wildlife without traditional cages.It serves as the modern relocation site for animals from the old, cramped Thrissur Zoo at Chembukkavu, currently housing over 330 animals—including Bengal tigers, leopards, gaurs, deer, lion-tailed macaques, crocodiles, and various birds—across 14 specially designed habitats.
