On average, a theft is committed every hour in hypermarkets. A shortfall of more than €7,000 per day in France, or 4.5 billion euros per year. High-tech cameras, anti-theft devices invisible to the naked eye: security budgets are exploding. Each store spends one million euros to equip itself. The security agents do not hesitate to trigger the security gates themselves to search the bags, or to patrol in civilian clothes in the middle of the customers. Staff are also under surveillance. 30% of thefts are the work of employees. Unexpected checks of lockers, infiltration of security guards within the teams... the management will stop at nothing.
