Rainbow Line Summit Park Located along the Mikata Goko Rainbow Line Scenic Road, Rainbow Line Summit Park offers one of the finest panoramic views of the Five Lakes of Mikata. Visitors can reach the summit by chairlift or cable car, where a spacious mountaintop park features five unique observation terraces, each providing a different way to enjoy the breathtaking scenery. Each terrace has its own distinctive character. Visitors can admire the spectacular panorama while relaxing on comfortable sofas, enjoying local cuisine and refreshments, or soaking their feet in a scenic footbath. Every terrace offers a different perspective of the surrounding lakes and mountains. The park also features popular photo spots for self-portraits, the Lover's Sanctuary, a romantic destination for couples, and a beautiful Rose Garden, where seasonal events are held in spring and autumn. With its ever-changing scenery, the park offers new experiences throughout the year. The Five Lakes of Mikata The Five Lakes of Mikata, renowned for their spectacular scenery created by the harmony of the lakes, surrounding mountains, and Wakasa Bay, consist of: Lake Mikata Lake Suigetsu Lake Suga Lake Kugushi Lake Hiruga Long ago, these lakes formed a single inland lake located far from the coastline. At the end of the Last Glacial Period, during the early Jōmon Period, sea levels rose by approximately 3 to 5 meters, transforming what is now Lake Kugushi into a large inlet connected to the sea. Over time, sediment carried by the Mimikawa River closed the inlet, creating the lagoon seen today. The other four lakes are believed to be fault lakes, formed approximately 500,000 years ago by subsidence along the Mikata Fault. Today, the Five Lakes of Mikata are among the most celebrated scenic landscapes in Wakasa Bay Quasi-National Park. In November 2005, they were designated as a Wetland of International Importance under the Ramsar Convention. Because each lake has a different depth and salinity, they are collectively known as the "Five-Colored Lakes." This unique environment supports an exceptional diversity of aquatic life, ranging from marine to freshwater fish, while also providing an important habitat for numerous species of migratory waterbirds. 彩虹線山頂公園（Rainbow Line Summit Park） 彩虹線山頂公園位於三方五湖彩虹公路（Rainbow Line）途中。遊客可搭乘空中纜椅或登山纜車直達山頂，在園區內盡情欣賞三方五湖壯麗的全景。 山頂公園設有五座各具特色的觀景露臺，遊客可依照自己的喜好，以不同方式享受絕美景色：或悠閒躺在沙發上、或品嚐在地美食、或一邊泡著足湯，一邊欣賞湖泊與群山交織而成的壯闊全景。 園內還設有深受遊客喜愛的自拍打卡景點、適合情侶造訪的戀人聖地，以及每年春、秋兩季舉辦活動的玫瑰園。四季景色各具風情，是值得一訪再訪的熱門景點。 三方五湖 與若狹灣及群山相互輝映的三方五湖，由以下五座湖泊組成： 三方湖 水月湖 菅湖 久々子湖 日向湖 很久以前，三方五湖原本是一座遠離海岸的內陸大湖。 第四冰河期結束後，進入繩文時代前期，由於海平面上升約3至5公尺，原本的久々子湖逐漸形成一座深入內陸的大海灣。之後，耳川搬運而來的泥沙封閉了灣口，使其演變成今日的潟湖（沙洲潟湖）。 其餘四座湖泊則被認為是在約五十萬年前，因三方斷層地層下陷而形成的斷層湖。 三方五湖是若狹灣國定公園最具代表性的自然景勝地之一，並於2005年11月正式列入**《拉姆薩公約》**國際重要濕地名錄。 由於五座湖泊的水深與鹽分濃度各不相同，因此又有「五色之湖」的美稱。這種獨特的自然環境孕育了從海水魚到淡水魚等多樣的生物，同時也是眾多水鳥珍貴而重要的棲息地。 県道三方五湖レインボーライン線の途中にあるレインボーライン山頂公園。リフト・ケーブルカーで頂上まで登れば、絶景を望む5つのテラスを中心に三方五湖を存分に楽しめる公園が広がります。 それぞれ個性あふれる5箇所のテラスからは、ソファに横たわりながら・グルメを楽しみながら・足湯に浸りながら…さまざまなシチュエーションで大パノラマを堪能できます。 セルフ撮影を楽しめるスポットや、カップルにぴったりの恋人の聖地、春秋にはバラ園でのフェアも開催。 四季折々何度でもお楽しみいただけるスポットとなっています。 若狭湾や山々との連なりで絶景を生み出す「三方五湖」は 三方湖・水月湖・菅湖・久々子湖・日向湖 の5つの湖から成り立っています。 その昔、三方五湖は海岸から遠く離れた内陸の1つの湖でした。 第４氷河期が終わり、縄文時代前期になると海水面が３～５ｍ高くなったことにより、元々あった久々子湖は大きな入り江となりました。その後、耳川によって運ばれた土砂が入口を塞ぎ、入り江は潟湖となりました。 他の4つの湖は５０万年前に三方断層の沈殿部にできた断層湖とみられています。 若狭湾国定公園を代表する景勝地で、2005年11月にラムサール条約に登録されました。五つの湖は異なる水深と塩分濃度で五色の湖とも呼ばれ、海水魚から淡水魚まで様々な魚が生息し、水鳥の貴重な生息地でもあります。
