100년 전 부산의 모습|1928년 일제강점기 컬러복원【Ep.01】|Life in Busan under Japanese Rule (1928)
Approximately 100 years ago, Busan, Korea was the largest international port and gateway on the Korean Peninsula. This historical archive brings black-and-white documentary photographs taken in Busan, Korea, in 1928, together with Japanese-issued postcards from the same period, back to life through AI colorization and motion restoration. What did Busan look like a century ago? During the period of Japanese rule, Busan was a bustling city where merchants, travelers, dockworkers, students, and local residents crossed paths every day. Its streets, markets, railways, and harbors were constantly filled with movement and activity. Follow the streets of Gwangbok-ro and Daecheong-ro, Bupyeong Market, Bukbin Harbor, Busan Station, Busan Customs House, the Busan Municipal Office, Yongdusan Park, Dongnae Hot Springs, Songdo Beach, Haeundae, Beomeosa Temple, and many other places that shaped the city nearly 100 years ago. Each photograph preserves a fragment of Busan’s history—not only its architecture and cityscape, but also the everyday lives of the people who once lived there. This video is a historical archive created using AI colorization, upscaling, and motion restoration based on authentic historical photographs. Every effort has been made to respect the historical context and integrity of the original materials while enhancing them through modern restoration technology. All restoration, AI upscaling, colorization, and motion production were independently completed by Memories in Color (기억을색으로).
