After four days of continuous rainfall, the Sundar River in Komna, Nuapada district, has witnessed a strong flow of water, leading to a remarkable increase in fish movement. Since early morning, hundreds of people gathered along the riverbanks to catch fish using fishing nets, bamboo sticks, and other traditional methods. People from Komna, Khariar, Tarbod, and nearby areas joined the fishing activity as large quantities of fish moved upstream following the rise in the water level of the Tikhali Dam, according to local residents. With fish being caught in huge quantities, the local market has seen a sharp fall in prices.
