Facts from this vlog: Train journey Da Nang to Hue (duration & cost): A VIP luxury compartment costs only about 275,000 VND (approx. €9). The journey takes a good 4 hours for 80 km, but offers one of the most beautiful views in Vietnam along the Hai Van Pass. Flexibility & taxi prices: You don't necessarily need a return flight ticket. A taxi we spontaneously haggled on the street from Hue back to Da Nang cost us 1.3 million VND (approx. €48) and only took a little over 2 hours. Avoid hotel mistakes: A new hotel in a prime location costs around €50. But beware: Don't rely solely on attractive photos. Brand new hotels often lack the finishing touches (meager breakfast, dim gym, noise from construction sites or bars). The best time to travel to Hue: Hue's climate is even more extreme than Da Nang's (hotter in summer, wetter in the rainy season). The absolute best months for a relaxed visit are February and March. What to do in Hue: Besides the Imperial City, you should definitely try a local Banh Mi (from €1) and the original salt coffee (around 30,000 Dong), which was invented right here.
