The Abrasive Tournament I put this "Alien" material through a gauntlet of my best abrasives to see what would bite. From the SG-250 Aluminum Oxide to Silicon Carbide and the final boss—Diamond and CBN. The results were shocking. While Silicon Carbide showed promise, most professional tools were simply obliterated by the density of this ceramic. Technical Discoveries The Angle: We settled on 22 degrees (matching/slightly exceeding the existing edge) to mitigate the unknown. The Technique: Edge-trailing diamond passes are likely mandatory.
