Week 3 of Our $130K Renovation: Big Progress & One Expensive Mistake

Week 3 of our $130K renovation at Mielke Family Farm. We’re making steady progress inside—primary bathroom tile is going in, we turned a vintage piece into a custom vanity, and the paint and trim throughout the house are starting to bring everything together. On the exterior, we ran into an issue where the wrong paint was used on the vinyl siding, leading to bubbling and some water damage in a few areas. We’re now planning to replace those sections with Hardie board instead of trying to patch it. Still to come: cabinets, doors, trim, and final decisions in the primary suite.
