Johnny Rodriguez – We Had A Good Time Trying

Johnny Rodriguez – We Had A Good Time Trying (Johnny Rodriguez). Taken from the vinyl LP "Introducing Johnny Rodriguez", released on the Mercury label in 1973 (Once the full album is uploaded, you'll find the link right here in the description). Produced by Jerry Kennedy & Roy Dea, it is his very first album. Although it was released on a 2-on-1 CD edition, the original album was never released as a standalone CD. Encouraged by Bobby Bare and Tom T. Hall who both heard him performing live in a local Texas club, the 21-year-old Johnny Rodriguez arrived in Nashville with a guitar in hand and $14 in his pocket. Hall soon found work for Rodriguez as a guitarist for his road band, as well as writing songs. Less than one year later, Hall took Rodriguez to Mercury Records and landed him an audition with the record label where he signed and began recording in their Nashville studio. 💿 Vinyl Transfer Details: Transferred by MyVinylTransfers - @myvinyltransfers (private archival project).
