Al-Mufaddi pointed out that the digital economy contributes 15.8% to the Kingdom's GDP, and that the size of the communications and information technology market has reached 199 billion riyals. He also noted that the number of beneficiaries of training programs has reached more than 170,000, and that the number of employees in communications and information technology professions has exceeded 411,000. According to the Deputy Minister, the total capacity of data centers today reaches approximately 480 megawatts, and fiber optic coverage has reached approximately 70% of homes. Al-Mufaddi added that 5G coverage has exceeded 88% of the population, and that the Kingdom was among the first countries to conduct trials of 6G technology.
