TOKYO: Nihonbashi Kyobashi Festival – Oedo Kakki Parade 2024 | Japan

Starting from Kyobashi 2-chome on Chuo Street near Meidi-ya and extending through the Nihonbashi area, the “Oedo Kakki Parade” is a large-scale event featuring groups that present traditional festivals and dances from across Japan. The parade, now in its 51st year, began with local groups and public officials in the opening procession. This was followed by the “Shokoku Orai Parade,” where traditional dances and festival performances from various regions of Japan were showcased, each capturing the distinctive cultural essence of its region. This year, the Tokyo Maritime Self-Defense Force Band also made a special guest appearance, performing a musical showcase.
